Aeronautica is built with the help of open source software. This page acknowledges the projects we use and their respective licenses.

License Summary

Across all products, Aeronautica uses approximately 730 open source packages. The vast majority are licensed under permissive open source licenses:

  • MIT The most common license — permits use, modification, and distribution
  • Apache-2.0 AWS SDKs and related ecosystem — includes patent grants
  • ISC npm core packages — functionally equivalent to MIT
  • BSD BSD-2-Clause and BSD-3-Clause variants — permissive with attribution

Analysis Engines

The structural analysis engines — ASPEC Loadsgen, FuseLoads, WingSpan, and Frame — are proprietary Fortran-based tools developed by Aeronautica LLC. They use one open source dependency:
